Round the Bend

The plumber is never out of work
The carpenter is always on the mend
The baby’s always brought in by a stork
And, babe, I’m always goin’ round the bend

Momma, you’re always on my mind
The artists never failing to pretend
I try to be so careful and so kind
And I only end up goin’ round the bend

The bend is long and narrow
The streets aren’t marked at all
Where the beggars wear boleros
And the weather’s always fall

My friend preacher, he’s just creepin’ through the night
He’s got his infrared camera in his hand
He documents the darkness and the light
He documents me goin’ round the bend

The bend is long and narrow
The streets aren’t marked at all
Where the beggars wear boleros
And the weather’s always fall

The friar is never caught without a friend
The poet is destined to offend
So when I get there I’ll send for you then
Cause all I know is I’m goin round the bend
All I know is I’m goin round the bend
All I know is I’m goin round the bend
